Troubleshooting

Login & Connectivity Issues

Fix Microsoft login blocks and corporate firewall or VPN issues that prevent Tenali from connecting.

If you are having trouble signing in or connecting to Tenali, your organization's IT policies are likely the cause. The two most common issues are below, along with steps you can share directly with your IT admin.

Microsoft Login Blocked by Your Organization

Most of the time, signing in with Microsoft just works. However, some organizations restrict which third-party apps their employees can use. If your login is being blocked, your IT admin needs to approve Tenali in Microsoft Entra ID (formerly Azure AD).

If you see an error when trying to sign in with Microsoft, share the steps below with your IT admin.

Steps for Your IT Admin

If Tenali Does Not Appear in Enterprise Applications

The recommended path is for the admin to grant admin consent for Tenali directly, applying the minimum scopes needed (least-privilege). Avoid enabling tenant-wide user consent as a workaround.

  1. 1

Prefer admin consent with least-privilege scopes

If Tenali does not appear yet, have a user attempt to sign in once so the app is registered in your tenant. Then grant admin consent to Tenali only, approving only the scopes Tenali requests rather than broader tenant-wide permissions.

  2. 2

If user consent must be allowed, scope it tightly

If your organization's policy allows user consent, configure it under Identity > Applications > Enterprise applications > Consent and permissions > User consent settings to restrict consent to verified publishers and to low-impact, scoped permissions only. Avoid the tenant-wide "Allow user consent for apps" option unless your policy already permits it.

  3. 3

    Save and retry

Save the changes and have the user attempt to sign in again. Tenali should now appear in Enterprise applications, where the admin can review the exact permissions granted.

Once approved, you will be able to log in normally. The admin does not need to create a separate account or log into Tenali. This is a one-time allowlist setting.

"Can't Connect to Tenali Servers" (Corporate VPN / Firewall)

If you see a "Can't connect to Tenali servers" error in the desktop app, or transcripts are not appearing after you click Start Recording, your corporate VPN or firewall may be blocking Tenali's servers.

Domains to Allowlist

Ask your IT team to allowlist the following domains on port 443 (HTTPS and WebSocket):

DomainPurpose
api.tenali.aiAPI requests and real-time WebSocket connection
app.tenali.aiWeb application
tenali.us.auth0.comAuthentication

Once these are allowed, the app will connect automatically. No restart is needed.

Still Having Trouble?
