Understand role boundaries and how to assign access safely.

Tenali role boundaries protect sensitive data while allowing teams to move quickly.

Roles

  • User: standard workspace usage — access to meetings, sources, and chat within your workspace
  • Admin: team and organization management privileges — invite/remove members, manage integrations, configure workspace settings
  • Owner: workspace creator with full administrative control — same as Admin with additional billing and ownership capabilities

Role Management Principles

  • Grant least privilege by default
  • Use temporary elevation for one-off admin tasks
  • Review admin assignments quarterly

Team Operations

  • Invite new members with explicit role assignment
  • Revoke or downgrade access when ownership changes
  • Audit invitation status (pending, accepted, revoked, expired)
