No Bot Joins Your Calls

How the Tenali desktop app assists on live calls without adding a visible bot participant to your meetings.

Most Tenali customers prefer a bot-free meeting experience — no extra participant, no awkward "who is that?" questions from buyers. That's why the Tenali desktop app for macOS and Windows is the primary way teams use Tenali.

How It Works

When you install the Tenali desktop app, call assistance runs entirely through your machine. Tenali detects your active meeting, captures audio locally, and displays real-time answers in the overlay — all without adding a visible participant to the call.

Your buyers never see Tenali in the attendee list. There's no bot to admit, no extra name in the participant panel, and no disruption to the meeting flow.

Why This Matters

  • Customer trust — buyers aren't surprised by an unfamiliar name in the meeting
  • No admission delays — no waiting for a host to let a bot into the call
  • Broad platform support — the desktop app works with most meeting platforms, including those that block third-party bots

What to Tell Your Buyers

When buyers ask whether Tenali joins calls as a participant:

  • In desktop app mode, Tenali does not join as a visible attendee or bot. Assistance runs through the desktop app installed on your machine, and buyers will not see Tenali in the meeting.
  • In bot mode (available on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex), Tenali joins as a background participant. See the bot mode section below for details.

Things to Know

  • The desktop app must be running for Tenali to assist on calls — download it for macOS or Windows
  • Meeting support quality depends on platform compatibility — see the supported platforms grid
  • Your IT team may need to whitelist Tenali if your organization has endpoint restrictions

What If You Can't Install the Desktop App?

For teams where IT policy prevents installing desktop software, Tenali also supports a bot mode — a bot participant joins your call and provides similar real-time assistance where supported. This is available on Zoom, Google Meet, Microsoft Teams, and Webex only. Capabilities and capture quality may vary by platform.

Most teams prefer the desktop app because it's invisible to buyers. But bot mode ensures you can still get real-time help even in locked-down environments. Contact security@tenali.ai to discuss setup.
