Network Resilience & Reliability
What happens when your network drops during a call and how Tenali protects your data.
Tenali is built to handle the reality of enterprise networks — VPNs, firewalls, unstable Wi-Fi, and corporate proxy servers. Here's what to expect.
What Happens if You Lose Connection
If your network drops during an active call, Tenali does not lose your data:
- Transcripts are queued locally — if the connection drops, transcript data is saved on your machine and uploaded when connectivity returns
- Automatic reconnection — Tenali continuously attempts to reconnect in the background
- Fallback transport — if the primary connection fails, Tenali switches to a backup transport method automatically
- No manual action needed — you don't need to restart the app or the recording
The overlay will show a "Reconnecting..." state while connectivity is restored. Once back online, your session resumes and any queued data is synced.
Updates Never Interrupt Recordings
When a new version of Tenali is available, the update banner only appears when you're not in an active recording. Updates are never applied mid-call — your recording and live assistance are never interrupted.
Crash Recovery
If the Tenali desktop app crashes during an active recording, it saves a state checkpoint. When you relaunch the app, it can recover the session and preserve your recording data.
Firewall and VPN Requirements
Tenali needs access to specific network services to function. If your IT team manages a firewall, VPN, or proxy server, Tenali may not work until the required domains are whitelisted.
On startup, Tenali runs a connectivity check. If it can't reach the required services, it shows a dialog with instructions your IT team can use to configure access.
Tips
- If you see a connectivity warning on startup, share the dialog instructions with your IT team
- Tenali works on most corporate networks out of the box — issues are typically limited to strict firewall environments
- If you're on an unstable connection (conference Wi-Fi, mobile hotspot), Tenali will still capture your call — you may just see brief "Reconnecting" states in the overlay
