Tenali AI Docs
Getting Started

System Requirements

Devices, operating systems, and network setup that Tenali supports.

Check that your device meets these requirements before installing the Tenali desktop app. Tenali is built for modern work laptops and does not run on older Intel Macs or Windows on ARM devices.

Supported Devices and Operating Systems

Other Requirements

  • A Tenali workspace account using your work email.
  • An active internet connection that can reach api.tenali.ai, app.tenali.ai, and tenali.us.auth0.com on port 443. If you are on a corporate network, see Login & Connectivity Troubleshooting for domains your IT team needs to allowlist.
  • Microphone permission on both macOS and Windows.
  • Screen Recording and Accessibility permissions on macOS. See Permissions for details.

Virtual Machines, VDI, and Remote Desktop

Tenali is not officially supported in virtualized environments. This includes:

  • Parallels, VMware Fusion, and UTM on Mac
  • VMware Workstation and Hyper-V on Windows
  • Citrix, AWS WorkSpaces, Azure Virtual Desktop, and other VDI platforms
  • Running Tenali over Remote Desktop (RDP) or similar remote sessions

Live audio capture and meeting detection rely on native operating system APIs that are not consistently available or reliable inside virtualized environments. If your team needs to use Tenali in one of these setups, contact security@tenali.ai and we will review your configuration.

Meeting Platforms

For the full list of meeting platforms Tenali supports for live in-call assistance, see Call Detection & Supported Platforms.

What to Do If Your Device Is Not Supported

If your current device does not meet the requirements above:

  • Check with your IT team about getting a supported laptop for in-call assistance.
  • Use the web app at app.tenali.ai from any modern browser to view summaries, manage sources, and run chats. The web app works on any device regardless of OS or chip.
  • Contact security@tenali.ai if you have questions about device requirements for your team.
