HubSpot

Ask about any deal in chat, and push your meeting recap straight back to the record.

Stop retyping call notes into HubSpot. Connect your own HubSpot account once, and Tenali can pull deal, company, and contact details into chat — and push the outcome of each call straight onto the right deal.

What connecting unlocks

  • Ask your CRM in chat — with HubSpot connected, chat can pull deal, company, and contact details into an answer and link straight to the record it used. Records are read live, so you see what's in HubSpot right now. CRM lookups work in web-app chat and in a Slack DM with Tenali — not in Slack channels, and not in the in-call overlay.
  • Push a summary to the right record — turn a finished meeting into an updated deal from the summary toolbar, company-first — pick the company, then the deal, and push. See Push a Summary to Your CRM.
  • Update your CRM from chat Rolling out — ask Tenali to update a deal, log the meeting as a note, create a follow-up task, or add a contact. By default, changes that move the forecast wait for your approval on a review card and additive ones like a note or a task apply straight away — though additive changes share the card when they're batched with one that needs review, and an explicit "go ahead" can let forecast changes through without it — except a move to closed-won or closed-lost, which always needs your confirmation. See Update Your CRM from Chat.
  • Create companies and deals from a call New — when the record doesn't exist yet, Tenali can create the company and the deal together, linked to each other and to any contacts it resolved, instead of making you go and set them up first. Logging the meeting onto the new record is a separate change — ask for it once the deal exists. This is a HubSpot-only capability, and it's part of chat write-back.

What Tenali writes

There are two write paths, and they're deliberately different in scope. The Push to Hubspot button is narrow and predictable; chat write-back is broader and asks before it moves your forecast.

From the Push to Hubspot button

The button updates exactly three properties on the one deal you select:

  • Description — the meeting's date and time, your name, the summary overview, then the numbered next steps.
  • Next step — the same numbered next-step list.
  • Close date — only when Tenali can infer a specific date from the summary.

The push dialog can also create a company or a deal inline if the right one doesn't exist yet, so you usually don't have to go and set the record up first. Creating a company needs the matching permission on your HubSpot login — without it, Tenali asks you to reconnect with company permissions.

From chat

Chat write-back covers considerably more: deal stage, amount, close date, next step, description, name, priority and deal type; notes and follow-up tasks; contacts; and creating companies and deals that don't exist yet. Every change is attributed to the meeting it came from. Changes that go to a review card show the before and after where there was a previous value — a brand-new company or deal has none, so it shows the fields Tenali will set. Safe additive changes, like logging a note, can apply without a card in the web app. See Update Your CRM from Chat.

Whichever path you use, the boundary is the same: Tenali never changes a record's owner, and never writes custom fields, custom objects, tickets, quotes, or leads.

Connect HubSpot

HubSpot connects through OAuth, so there are no keys to copy — you just authorize Tenali against your portal.

  1. 1

    Open Integrations

In the web app, go to Integrations (the "Manage Integrations" page). Find HubSpot in the Application list.

  2. 2

    Click Connect

Click the "Connect" button in the Action column. A new tab opens.

  3. 3

    Authorize Tenali

Sign in to HubSpot in the new tab and approve access to your portal. If nothing opens, check your pop-up blocker and allow pop-ups for app.tenali.ai. Tenali waits about two minutes for you to finish — if the tab is closed or the authorization stalls, the attempt ends with "Connection timed out. Please try again."

  4. 4

    Confirm it's connected

Back on the Integrations page, the HubSpot row now shows a "Connected" badge alongside a "Disconnect" button.

Every teammate connects their own HubSpot account, and Tenali reads and writes as you — see How CRM Connections Work.

Disconnect

To remove the connection, click "Disconnect" on the HubSpot row. Chat loses CRM access on your very next message, and the summary toolbar's "Push to Hubspot" button reverts to a generic Push to CRM that only prompts you to connect one. You can reconnect anytime by clicking "Connect" again.
